The Influence of the Toronto Rapid Transit System on Residential Property Values

By Dr. Maurice Yeates and Dr. Tony Hernandez

This research from the CSCA focuses on the influence of rapid transit (RT) system on residential property prices. With residential property provided via research partnership with Brookfield RPS, Maurice Yeates and the CSCA research team analyzed residential property prices based on their proximity to the RT (i.e., nearest TTC subway stations) in Toronto. What influence does proximity to subway stations have on the average residential property prices per square foot in Toronto?  Is the spatial pattern the same for all subway stations? If not, what is the implication?
