IKEA Extends Market Reach Through Omnichannel Innovation

From a Swedish farm business in the 1940s through to the 2020s – IKEA has grown into a global furniture retail giant. The latest research from the CSCA provides insights into IKEA’s store strategy in Canada. Since entering the Canadian marketplace in the 1970s, IKEA’s store footprint has been dominated by its superstore format. In recent years IKEA has extended its reach by experimenting with omnichannel innovation and by developing new store formats and delivery options. The most recent, smaller urban concept opened in downtown Toronto on May 25th, 2022, with IKEA’s ‘Plan and Order Point’ concept stores to be rolled out in Canada in the near future.
