Retail in the Digital Age: The Mobile Shopping Companion
By Dr. Tony Hernandez and Andrew Murray
The CSCA conducted a major survey of young Canadians to ascertain how they use their mobile devices for shopping related activities. The on-line survey was emailed to students enrolled in programs within the Ted Rogers School of Management (TRSM) at Ryerson University located in downtown Toronto. The purpose of the survey was to develop a better understanding of the use of mobile technology and to provide key insights into mobile device adoption and usage for shopping-based and associated on-line activities. This research letter reports the findings from the survey and provides insights into how mobile technology is fundamentally impacting the shopping behaviors of a key emerging cohort of Canadian consumers.
